Hang In There

Easter is approaching. If you are participating in the Lenten Fast, the time is almost up. The day when you get to “do your thing” again is near. So, hang in there!

Ephesians 3:16-17 says, “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”

May you rest in the power of God’s Spirit to help you complete your fast victoriously. May you experience a greater awareness of Christ’s presence in you as a result of your fast. May your faith be strengthened because of your participation in the fast.

    This time without the TV has been a remarkable time for us. We have rediscovered each other and communication. As Easter draws near we find ourself exmaining exactly how much of the old way we need to go back to. Of course we miss the news and weather, but hey most of the news is bad anyway. We have recorded somethings and watched them on the Sabbath, but we find that not even very enticing anymore. Just the peace of not having the TV constantly blaring has given us the time to let our spirits be still. It has truly been an amazing time.

    It is amazing when you do without something for awhile, you realize you really didn’t need it as much as you thought you did. Things that once seemed extremely important now seem trivial. The Lenten fast helps us let go of those things that we once held on to with a tight grip.
